I'm on Pacifier Patrol!!!

Jackson has grown quite attached to his pacifier.  He even has his favorite (seriously - he will take one out of his mouth and trade it for his "favorite").

About 4 weeks ago, I decided it was time to start breaking away from the pacifier.  However, it seemed the minute I decided that - he was very sick and in the hospital.  So, I used the excuse that he wasn't feeling well to put off this horrible task of taking away the pacifier.

Now, he is feeling better and I am determined to break him of this habit.  However, I'm the only one.  Justin hands Jackson his pacifier about as often as I hand him a snack.  And it seems that the pacifier is a Grandparent favorite.  Either that - or they just can't tell him no!  :)

So...I'm officially on pacifier patrol...I am watching all Grandparents, Aunts, Pre-school Teachers,...and even one push- over Daddy!

Any tips on how to break Grandparents of the pacifier?  :)

When he was screaming in Cracker Barrel the people at the other table told us to find his pacifier so we only did as we were told :) p.s.-not the grandparents fault..........

Toss all of them. Then you don't have any to give. I WISH Cami took a pacifier.. then you can take it away. She likes to chew on her thumb and TODAY I notice that she had her thumb in her mouth when she was drinking her bottle! Ugh...

Kris... start cutting the top off and slowly cut it down until nothing is left of the rubber/silicone tip of the pacifer. About the g-parents have them do the same. Jackson will get annoyed with the pacifer being so short he will finally give up. Good luck. Let's hope this works!!!

We are getting ready to work on the same issue! Jack only uses it when he sleeps but lately has gotten more attached to it - Oops! And yes, his grandparents stick it right in... "But, he wants it...!"

Babies NEED that oral sucking to develop good speech later. Thumbs will stick around forever and not be able to be cut off so keep the pacifier. Grandparents UNITE!!

Kristen let him have it; Andrea threw hers away on her own, she was 3 however! Jake sucked his thumb until he was 9!!!! (can't throw that away!)
