Best Wishes to Tyler and Audrey!

It is a little late...but Best Wishes are overdue to my "Baby" cousin and his wife - Audrey.

Tyler and Audrey asked Jackson (along with all of the little ones from my family) to be in their wedding. I was nervous that he wouldn't do as he was asked - and make it down the aisle - but he was a champ!

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed sharing in Tyler and Audrey's special day. The wedding was so beautiful and the reception was so fun! Justin and I didn't leave until the music stopped! :)

Best wishes to Tyler and Audrey - we hope you enjoy married life - it suits you well! :)

More pictures below...

It isn't a wedding unless Justin breaks out the "Dirty Diana" moves!

He can't be my kid!!

Jackson just can't be my kid. Not only does he only look like Justin - but this kid doesn't like Ice Cream! In fact, I'm not sure he has ever tasted it. When I put it in front of him he says "I no like it"...and he's serious!

Most kids can be bribed with ice cream. No such luck here. Jackson will turn his nose up to it any day.

Recently, Jackson was asked to list his favorite foods and his not-so-favorite foods at school.

Check out what made the list! At least he's consistent.

...And he is right on with the watermelon. He can't get enough...but what kid doesn't like ice cream!?!

He loves to JAM!

Most of you know what a Michael Jackson fan Justin is. So it won't surprise you that the CD in his truck is no other than MJ's greatest hits. Jackson has come quite the Michael Jackson fan himself due to many car rides with Dad. It is hilarious to hear him ask for his favorite song - JAM. Justin and Jackson even have dance moves. I decided to catch Jackson's dance moves on camera - Justin on the other hand requested I not record his! :)

My nieces - Olivia and Madeline - were with us and Jackson loved having a couple dance partners!

Enjoy the video! We sure did!

Let's Go to the Movies!

Jackson has two new best friends - Sherriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear. In fact, we don't do much without either of them. They are a part of the family! :)

Last week, Justin and I took Jackson to his first movie theater experience - to see Toy Story 3 of course. Jackson was excited and insisted on taking Buzz with us. I loved hearing him whisper to Buzz in the back seat, "Hey Buzz, let's go to the movies!"

When we picked out our seats, Jackson's first concern was that it was very dark. Thank goodness we brought Buzz along to protect us. As soon as the movie started Jackson forgot about the darkness.

However, about an hour into the movie Jackson announced, "I wanna go bye-bye!" So we did. Perhaps Sherriff Woody and Buzz will be more entertaining on DVD.... :)

Enjoy some photos!

Like Father, Like Son!

Those of you who know us well - know that Justin is a golfer. In fact, it is quite an obsession of his...and I often tease him about it. Little did I know that our little Jackson would pick up on the sport as well. Though I shouldn't be surprised - Jackson loves any sport that requires him to hit or kick a ball! He is all boy - and we love it!

Justin recently gave Jackson his first golf lesson. I loved watching these two in action together. Justin took it very seriously - even teaching Jackson the perfect swing - or at least he tried to. Jackson on the other hand just loved hitting the ball. In fact, I'm not sure he understands the difference between golf and baseball...check out the video below to see what I mean.

No matter what - I loved watching these two together!

Fun Day Outside!

Recently, Jackson and I spent the entire day outside at "Mama and Pop's" house. Pop took some great photos and they were too sweet not to share! Enjoy!

Friday Show #1

In the summer time, Jackson's pre-school invites all the parents to the school every Friday afternoon to watch a "show" that the kids have come up with each week.

Last week was our first "show." The program was weather themed and we were asked to bring Jackson's umbrella in. I had a feeling we would be hearing "Singing in the Rain." I was right.

However, eight toddlers on stage - each with an umbrella's is a funny sight. Enjoy the pictures and the video. We are already looking forward to this Friday's show.

I won't bore you with the entire video - but here is a little peak of the big "show"!

Happy Father's Day, Justin!

Justin and Jackson - Father's Day 2010

Happy Father's Day to Justin!

I told Justin today - if he wasn't a father - then I wouldn't be a mother.

For that, I will be forever grateful.

Justin,

I love you. I can't wait to watch you with Jackson as he grows. He is very lucky to have you as a Dad ... and I am lucky to have the both of you!

All my love,
Kristen

Missing Dad!

Dad and I in 1982
My favorite photo - it has sat on my night stand since I can remember!

Father's Day is approaching. In fact, I'm off to run a couple of errands and finalize Justin's Father's Day gift. Of course, it tugs at my heart that I'm not buying a gift for my own Dad.

The last Father's Day I spent with my Dad I bought him a book of personal stories about Dad's and their daughters. The very first page listed the lyrics to "Daddy's Little Girl" - a song that Dad sang to all of us as babies. It was that very same song that he and I danced to at my wedding. As Dad and I started dancing he and I were chatting about the day. But when the band began to sing the lyrics - Dad stopped talking and he sang the song to me one more time as he had years ago. Oh, what I'd give to hear it again today.

Its Father's Day weekend - and my Dad is on my mind. Today, is also my parents wedding anniversary. I wish he was here to celebrate both.

Miss him.

Tomorrow, Tomorrow....

What can we say...Jackson loves show tunes! :)

Jackson has taken a serious liking to the musical Annie (It happens to be one of our favorites too). It is one of his first requests when he visits Mamaw Penny and Pop's house. Recently, Penny told me how Jackson has started to even sing the songs out loud...I had to check it out myself.

This morning I googled Annie to see if I could find any video of the musical online. Sure enough - almost every scene is on YouTube. Jackson was quick to join in the chorus and I was quick to grab the flip cam!

Check out the video!

Love it!

It's Potty Time!

I snapped this photo shortly after the big event!

Guess who used the potty for the first time???

Nope - Not Justin....JACKSON! :)

We have been sitting Jackson on the potty for a few weeks now with no action at all. He loves sitting on the toilet but other than that I thought he was missing the point. I was wrong. Tonight, Justin walked him into the potty and off he went. Of course, he could work on his aim a little (but that goes for most men).

We were so proud - and boy did we celebrate. Lets just say I brought back some moves from my cheerleading days when Justin announced what took place. Jackson even clapped for himself. Jackson was dissapointed when the celebration ended and asked for "more potty!"

But like always it is two steps forward and 4 steps back - Jackson peed in the tub shortly after the big event! Oops!

Wish us luck with potty training!

We won't call Broadway just yet....

This past weekend, Jackson performed in his very first Learning Time Summer Program. Justin and I have attended these programs for years to watch my nieces and nephews (at least one of them has been enrolled at Learning Time for almost nine years). Each year it would tug at our hearts to watch our favorite little ones march across that stage. Justin even teared up when our niece, Madeline, performed the graduation number her Kindergarten year (It was High School Musical themed).

We couldn't believe that we actually had a child in this years show. Truth be told, when we were looking at other pre-schools Justin would ask if they held a similar show each year. If they didn't, Justin instantly crossed them off the list! So you could imagine our excitement to watch Jackson in this years show.

Jackson had told us for a couple of weeks that he would be singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" along with some dance moves. Jackson's entire class had practiced for weeks and the suspense was killing us...we couldn't wait to see what his teachers had come up with...

However - we didn't see much. Most kids just stood there, some had stage fright, another was busy chatting with friends, and Jackson spent his time just looking around! :) It didn't matter to us, we still had tears in our eyes and cheered as loud as we could.

Enjoy some video and photos from Jackson's Broadway Debut! :)

500 Festival Parade

Waving at Elmo!

Over the holiday weekend - we took in the 500 Festival Parade. Jackson loved waving at all the floats - including his favorite ELMO!

However - Jackson found the horses in the parade to be the most memorable. In fact, he is telling everyone about the horse that pooped (sorry - I didn't know how else to describe it) right in front of us... oh, the things they remember! :)

Seriously, what is it with boys and the word "poop"!?!

So He's No Mario Andretti...but he's still cute!

Last week, Jackson's pre-school held the 2010 "Mini 500" - complete with a pace lap! :)
It was an adorable event and Jackson loved the extra time outside. I'm not sure he understood he was actually in a RACE - he was a little slow out of the gate! :)

In keeping with Jackson's style and personality - he enjoyed the cookout after the race the most! Can't beat a hot dog with his friends, Mommy and Daddy, and even Mamaw Penny!

This was such a great event - as for winning - there is always next year!

Jackson's class. (He's on the right in the red)

Pit Crew - Jackson needed some help with his helmet.

READY!

Showing off his medal!

Jackson and Mamaw Penny

Jackson was so excited his Daddy made it!
