Way to go Jackson!

So proud of Jackson who knocked it out of the park at the Dentist today. Jackson never even whimpered - just opened his moth and let the Dentist do his job! Such a brave little boy! This Momma was so proud!

We even celebrated at "The Cookie Place" (otherwise known as Paradise Cafe) afterwards! Not sure how my 3.5 year old managed to look like a 6 year old in this photo...but that is clearly never allowed again! ;)

A few more photos...

A few more photos from Justin's birthday dinner. :)

Justin wasn't too excited that I told Benihannas it was his birthday. In fact, he tried to get me to cancel the singing and dancing parade they do when you mention it is your birthday...but Jackson wasn't having it! Jackson said, "but I want to celebrate Daddy's birthday" and it was decided then and there...we were singing and dancing.

Jackson loved it! Enjoy the photos!

Happy Birthday, Justin!

The Bixler's celebrating at Benihanna's! So fun!

Jackson gave Justin new golf tees for his birthday...
but told his Dad that he has share with him!

Love them both so much!

Back to Blogging...

Is anyone still reading this dusty old blog?

Yes, I know I haven't posted since Christmas...and even that post took me forever to put together.

Needless to say, free time is scarce around here. Justin and I are both loving our jobs, loving watching Jackson develop into a little boy, and as always trying to spend time with family and friends when we can.

There are many days Justin and I look at each other and just laugh at our crazy life. I know many folks wonder if I know if I'm coming or going (I promise, I do). Jackson is amazing at keeping up with our pace of life ... and sometimes I think he wonders why get tired every once in a while. I wish I had his energy - but I love that he got his zest for life from us. Like Justin and I, he never wants to miss an experience.

I want to get back to sharing those experiences with all of you. I love looking back on the blog and reading about things that happened a year or two ago. So, I am dedicated to getting back to blogging two or three times a week. Stay tuned for updates on this crazy life we have, pictures of Jackson (he is getting so big!), and updates on family and friends (I FINALLY posted about or Disney trip that we took 8 months ago - see below). We love sharing it all with you.

Now...off to Jackson's weekly Basketball Clinic. Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago!

The Bixler/Symmes Family Vacation - Walt Disney World 2011

You may remember me posting this time last year that we were knee deep in planning a multi-family vacation to Walt Disney World in honor of Jackson's 3rd birthday. Justin and I had planned this trip since before Jackson was born. We were so lucky that both our families were on board with packing their bags, taking off work (and school) and heading to the Happiest Place on Earth with us.

Fun was had by all. We met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc. We rode Dumbo, Space Mountain, and Its a Small World. We danced with Woody and waved at Goofy in all the parades. We swam in the hotel pool and went down the water slide a MILLION times (literally). We ate, drank, and ate some more (and drank some more). We laughed, and cried (yes, I cried when Jackson met Mickey Mouse for the first time). We argued (ummm...traveling with 15 people requires an argument or two) and made up...but most of all, we made memories. Memories that Jackson is still talking about - 8 months later.

I wanted to help Jackson remember how special his 3rd birthday truly was by capturing all our pictures and video onto a video montage for Jackson to watch. Jackson loves to watch this video and points out all his favorites. While I truly expected him to point out the Toy Story ride, Mickey Mouse, and the Tea Cup ride...Jackson spends his time pointing to his cousins. Not only did he love Disney World...he loved experiencing it with Olivia, Griffin, Madeline, and Hayden. So sweet!

For those that want to see the fun from our Disney trip, below is the video montage. Settle in - it is 45 minutes long. Sorry - it was made for Jackson- not specifically for the blog. Feel free to fast forward.

We are already planning another trip to Disney...Who's coming with us!?!
